DD taking Oscar for his first walk on our way home

He's settled in well & gets on well with all the other animals apart from Pam who has put him in his place a couple of times. The kittens are a bit cautious of him but he's just curious & they've now worked out that he means more food in the house.

The only sore point at the moment is that he hates his crate but I'm working on that.....

Welcome, Oscar! Enjoy your new life with Annie and the cats. Be nice to the cats - they leave food in their bowls.

Oscar looks very handome! I'm sure he'll soon learn that the cats are in charge ;-) Sadly our 15 year old cat died a month after Cassidy came home so she never really got to get to know her.

As for the crate, I'm sure it will come with time. Try putting his dinner in there and shutting him out. He'll quickly be clamouring to go in. Or stuff some Kongs with his dinner or something tasty. Hopefully he'll be so busy eating that by the time he's done he'll just want to settle for a nap. Cassidy now stays in the kitchen if we need to go out, but she loves her crate so it is still there if she wants to go in it. Hopefully Oscar will grow to love his as his little safe den. We had the advantage that Cassidy and her siblings used a crate from being teeny so it was not a new thing for her.

Look forward to hearing more!

Found your link via ravelry. I was instantly attracted because of the Airedale photo. I, too, am the proud parent of an Airedale. Ernie is two and the most laid-back dog ever. He's making up for Hoover, our last Airedale, who was a holy terror!
