Ta daa

I've finally finished my first pair of socks!!! The yarn was sent to me by my SP5 & is Regia 6 ply in Passion.

The second sock didn't happen as easily as the first but I finally sorted it out. I had 149cm of yarn left from the second sock but ran out of yarn on the first. I managed to get the legs to match but then it all went wrong on the feet.

I feel as if I've passed the rite of passage into the knitting elite - I am now a sock knitter! Next stage is lace knitting but I'm keeping well clear of that for the foreseeable future. I can see why they're so addictive. I love the fact that they're so portable - perfect for poolside knitting.

Gorgeous socks - I love the colourway. I'm being soooo good - I will not start my socks until I've got my other projects done...

Yay! They look great they really did "Soar" :)

Why are you steering clear of lace knitting for the forseeable future? It is addictive I have to say. There are loads of free patterns for simple lace scarves that you can get done in a relatively short period of time. I'll dig out some links for you if you change your mind ;)

Hey! I recognise that yarn! :-) Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely comment. You asked what pattern I used for my toe up socks and the real answer is that I don't really have one. I used a combination of a general sock pattern I got with my first sock kit, the instructions here http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter02/FEATtiptoptoes.html
and at knittinghelp.com. I use short rows for both the toe and heel because I like the way it looks. The best thing about toe-up is that you just knit till they fit. Socks are addictive - be warned!
