I'm sick (again) + thanks Pals

I woke up on Monday morning with a really sore throat & it's got worse. My GP thinks I have Glandular Fever & I had a blood test this morning. I'm feeling absolutely crap & am really tired. I'm not even knitting which proves how rough I feel.

The awful thing is that I've had this before when I was 19. I then went on to develop M E. I eventually recovered but it took a long time & messed up my life.

Last time I got GF I was single & living in a shared student house & my only responsibility was a dog & 2 cats. My dog ended up being rehomed for 6 months as I couldn't look after her. I don't know how I'm going to cope with DD & her schooling + swimming. DH is doing his best but always gets upset with me when I'm sick. He doesn't mean to & apologises afterwards but isn't a good nurse.

I'm hoping that I recover after a couple of weeks & it doesn't linger like before.....

I've received the last parcel from my SP & always Dee had put a lot of effort & thought into it. I also received the last parcel from Devon Knitter this morning - I love the scarf! Thanks so much. Photos will be shared when I'm feeling a bit more lively.

Hopefully, it really is just a bit of a post-holiday bug, and nothing more serious. So fingers crossed, and get better soon!

Sorry to hear your poorly. Hope it turns out to be just a bug ;)

Wouldn't surprise me if you picked something up from that awful campsite. It doesn't sound exactly hygenic does it?

The photos of Fountains Abbey were lovely BTW!

Thinking about you and sending healing vibes up there to your neck of the woods.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that you are poorly - bad throats are awful - I know I've had four this year - yuk !

Just to make you feel better - I had glandular fever when I was a student and was prescribed steriods really quickly - I started taking loads per day and then worked down to just one and by then I was just fine and I had no adverse reactions at all - so hopefully even if it is glandular fever swift diagnosis and treatment will prevent any complications developing - get those drugs down you. I so know what you mean about DH being a poor nurse - mine tries, but manages to make me feel mucho guilty when I'm sick - ho hum - he'll just have to manage if you are laid up I guess.

Feeling ill + not wanting to knit = torture.

Poor thing, take it easy to help recover quickly, don`t be tempted to do too much too soon, DH (and DD) will get by but it doesn`t help if you are made to feel guilty, I know, they can`t help it, it`s a man thing!

Hope you are feeling better soon! Tell DH not to be so mean...mine isn't much better when I am ill. He still expects me to do everything. Mean men.

You'll get through this. Look after yourself - you're the most important person right now. Let the others cope - DH can help with DD and let you rest. Be selfish, think positive.

Easier said than done, I know! I'm still recovering from the CFS and have to keep reminding myself that if I need rest, sod the housework ;)
