Teaser

This is just a quick note to everyone know that my Knit Picks order has arrived safe & sound. It was shipped on June 26th so only took a week to get here which I think is fantastic.

However I'm going to have to be really mean & not reveal what I bought as I'm suffering from a raging toothache tonight & don't feel well at all. Here's hoping that the antibiotics work & that I don't need a root canal as having read up on it I think I'd rather have the tooth removed or am I just being a wimp?

Oooh exciting! I hope mine arrives soon - it shipped on the same day...

Did you get charged by customs in the end?

Hope your tooth settles down :) Mu hubby has had root canal and says it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be.

Thanks for your comment Laura.

No charges at all but I made sure I kept it under the customs limit (I think it's £32) so therefore didn't get the £8 Royal Mail handling charge either.

Any dentistry work is complicated by my allergy to the most commonly used anaesthetic; lignocaine (sp?). So 1 procedure is far better than 3 for me plus the thought of them digging around inside my tooth to extract the pulp - urgh no thanks. But I'm hoping the antibiotics will work & I won't need any further treatment.

I'm with you - nothing on earth would make me have root canal treatment either. The tooth would have to go. Definitely not being a wuss - just darned practical ;)

Everyone I know thats had it has not said good things.....

Hope its all better soon. I can remember only too well how painful mine was last time. And yes, my tooth got wooped out. By the time I got to the dentist I could have happily pulled it out myself ....and when he saw the xray said no wonder I was in so much pain. Tell me about it!

Mum also sdays the thought of root canal is worse than it is. Her tooth was right at the back and she suggested to the dentist it was taken out but the dentist said they generally do root canal rather than remove. But in your case with the issues of the lignocaine it may be very different.

Urghh...I see what you mean! There's nothing wussy about wanting the most pain-free and suitable procedure :)

I am hoping my KnitPicks package will be waiting for me when I get home tonight.

Ooh, I can't wait to see what you ordered from Knit Picks :-)

Sorry to hear about your raging toothache. I had bad toothache a couple of months ago and the dentist said if the pain didn't go away after having new temporary fillings I might have to have a root canal. I have no idea what that involves and was too scared to look it up!! The pain has gone now and I put it down to the really bad ear ache I had at the same time!

I am stuck at home with toothache (I look like a hamster), I am going to have to have a tooth removed :(

Still Knit Picks yarn to play with!

Glad to hear you survived the flooding.

Also, SO glad to hear Knitpicks are doing a UK trial. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly, I could spend a fortune with them ;)

I hear you about the root canal. I had one last year, and my dentist wants to refer me for another. I have no pain, so that's not going to happen any time soon!

I'm interested in your KP trial too. Our Customs charge a flat-rate handling fee in addition to the taxes, so really small orders are out of the question. What a shame! ;)

How exciting on the KP trial, they are great to deal with in the US, so I hope it goes well in the UK!

On the root canal, I had to have one 2 years ago and the procedure was not too bad, but afterward I had a lot of pain==prescription size doses of Advil did the trick (800 mg at a time).
