We've all had them, stupid idiotic comments by non-knitters.
To put this in context, the gala on Sunday was pants. I won't go into it here but lets just say that it was the worst we've ever been to & DDs' club are putting in a formal complaint. I had already had a 'heated discussion' with one of the officials who was querying my need to watch my child swim*!*?*
He later passed me sat on the floor in the corridoor (don't ask) working on my Lacy Scallop sock & said
"Are you knitting anything good?"
To which I replied:
"I wouldn't bother if I didn't like it, would I???"

What he said doesn't even make any sense, does it!
I would have been so dumbstruck that I wouldn't have been able to think of a retort quick enough. All I would have said was 'Duh!'.
