Off the needles....

Sirdar Snowflake baby blanket
Stripey blue baby blanket

Yarn: Sirdar Snowflake Chunky Magic shade 412 3x 50g balls, 9g left.
5mm needles
Dimensions: 86cm long x 59cm wide

Pattern - my own
cast on 108 stitches length ways
Garter stitch for 4 rows
Repeat the next two rows until desired size.
Row 1: Knit row
Row 2: K4, P to last 4 stitches, K4
To finish, garter stitch for 4 rows & cast off loosely.

Casting on along the length allows the stripes run downwards which I think looks nice if across a childs legs in a buggy. The 4 stitch Garter stitch edge prevents the edges curling up & gives it a slight border.

I've deliberately made this quite large as the intended recipent was born in February & has already received some handknitted items. The weather is a lot warmer now but it'll be great for him later in the year when it gets colder.
