Anonymous said...: Make sure your camera is pointing at the sky rather than the half ground half sky. Most cameras use a metering system that works out the average light level across the whole of the viewed area.

The easiest way to take pictures of the sunset is to find somewhere you can prop the camera against (to keep it steady) and keep the ground to sky ratio keep low (i.e. lots of sky to little ground).

Simply put - make sure it's got more sky than ground & don't use a flash.
