Oriel
Susoolu taught me the Turkish Cast On & has been very supportive in my many attempts. I have now got the hang of reading the chart & am moving along nicely with it. My one concern is the heel but I'll deal with that when I get there....
btw - the 3rd stitch marker was caught on my life line so is hanging there until I've finished this repeat of the pattern which won't be for long.

Wow, your Oriel is coming along so fine, the pattern rocks and I love the colorway you chose! I haven't tried the Turkish Cast On yet, but you sure inspired me to try my hands at it too. Happy knitting!
Just beautiful. :-) Toe-up socks are next on my list. What are the rest of the patterns like in that book? I haven't any sock pattern books yet and I'm wondering which to add to my birthday wishlist!

I can't recommend this book enough. I've done another pair - Garter Ribs in my Mothers Day present, they're in the photo gallery.
You do a swatch to check your guage, measure you foot & then chose your pattern. Instructions are given for 4 + 5 dpns or 2 circs.
IMHO definately worth buying

The most important thing I found is to ensure that the last stitch is secured behind the needles as otherwise you'll lose it.
Have fun & thanks for your comment.
